Little story

A stronghold in the Middle Ages, Montpoupon was transformed in the 1857th century into a Renaissance residence. Owner since 20, the Motte Saint-Pierre family was able to modernize the castle in the XNUMXs to make it a comfortable residence.

Visit of the castle

Near Chenonceaux, in the Cher Valley, on the Route des Moulins (loop 13), this fully furnished castle welcomes you for a plunge into history in the company of Solange, the owner's granddaughter at the beginning of the XNUMXth century. From room to room, listen to the audio and fun explanations that punctuate the visit. Do not miss the kitchen and its superb brass instruments on the ground floor! Something to whet your appetite ...

Then cross the courtyard to discover the outbuildings and the Vènerie museum before starting a nice walk on the forest path.

A visit route suitable for children

Take advantage of a family tour adapted for children with the booklet "Solange investigation in Montpoupon". Strange things are happening in Montpoupon and Solange asks the children for help in solving this mystery. In the form of a treasure hunt, children will discover the castle, its outbuildings and anecdotes on the daily life of the family at their own pace.

Around the Castle

And to prolong the pleasure, the Auberge du Château welcomes you for a gastronomic stroll.
